طَبِيبِي قَرِيبٌ هَلْ سِقَامِيَ تَسْمَعُ *** يُقَابِلُنِي يَوْمِي الْمُقَفَّى الْمُشَفَّعُ
abībī qarībun hal siqāmiya tasmau *** yuqābilunī yaumī l-muqaffā l-mushaffau

Restoration of my health is nearer. Could my illness feel it?
The role model and solicitor (SAW) will accept me in my day.



أَرَانِي إِذَا مَا جِئْتُ يَوْمًا مُحَمَّدًا *** تَحَقَّقُ آمَالِي كَمَا أَتَوَقَّعُ
Arānī idhā mā jitu yaumān muhammadān *** taaqqaqu āmālī kamā atawaqqau

I believe that whenever i have connection with Muhammad in a day,
my aspirations will be actualized according to my expectation.



مُحَمَّدُ خَيْرَ العَالَمِينَ وَسِيلَتِي *** أَتَاكَ خَدِيمٌ ضَارِعٌ يَتَشَفَّعُ
Muhammadu khayra l-‘ālamīna wasīlatī*** atāka khadīmun ḍāri un yatashaffau

Muhammad, the best of creation is my means (to God)
a humble servant (Niass) has come before you seeking for your divine intervention.



أَتَيْتُ بِصِنْوِي ثُمَّ أَهْلِي وَإِلْدَتِي *** سِرَاعاً وَحَوْلَ الهَاشِمِي نَتَجَمَّعُ
Ataytu bisinwī thumma ahlī wa ildatī *** sirāān wa awla l-hāshimī natajammau

Here I am with my brother (Sirumbaye), then my family and children.
We quickly gather ourselves beside al-Hashimite.



وَخَلْفِي جُمُوعٌ يَنْتَمُونَ لِحِزبِكُمْ *** يَعُمُّهُمُ التَّشْفِيعُ أَجْمَعُ أَكْتَعُ
Wa khalfī jumūu yantamūna li-hizbikum *** yaummuhumu t-tashfīu ajmau aktau

And behind me are groups of your followers.
May your divine intervention have effect on all and sundry.



أَيَا نَفْسُ أَدْرَكْتِ الْأَمَانِي فَهَذِهِ *** مَرَابِعُ خَيْرِ النَّاسِ وَالنُّوْرُ يَسْطَعُ
Ayā nafsu adrakti l-amānī fa-ādhihi *** marābiu khayri n-nāsi wa n-nūri yastau

O soul! Have you achieved your needs? This is..
..abode of the best of mankind the light emanates.



فَأَلْقَتْ عَصَاهَا وَاسْتَقَرَّتْ بِهَا النَّوَى *** وَنِلْتِ الْمُنَى مَا بَالُ عَيْنِكِ تَدْمَعُ
Fa-alqat ‘aṣāhā wastaqarrat bihā n-nawā*** wa nilti l-munā mā bālu ayniki tadmau

Your pilgrim staff does throw and reside wherefrom
And you have obtained your needs, why is it that your eyes are shedding tears?



وَمَا بَالُ هَذَا الشَّوْقِ وَالشَّمْلُ جَامِعٌ *** وَذَا الحَبْلُ مَوْصُولٌ فَمَا الوَصْلُ يُمْنَعُ
Wa mā bālu hādhā sh-shauqi wa sh-shamlu jāmiun *** wa dhā l-ablu mauṣūlun famā l-walu yumna’u

What is the thought of this yearn and what does this care embody?
This rope has been connected. Would the contact be thwarted?

 


فَلَوْ صَوَّرُونِي فِي الحَقِيقَةِ لَمْ يَرَواْ *** سِوَى شَخْصِ مَحْبُوبٍ بِهِ نَتَمَّتَّعُ
Falau awwarūnī fī l-aqīqati lam yarau *** siwā shakhi mabūbin bihi natammattau

If at all men could depict my real image, i’m nothing save that beloved that we have pleasure in.



فَبَاعِثُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لِلشَّوْقِ وَاحِدٌ *** فَلَسْتُ أُثَنِّيهِ وَلَمْ أَكُ أَجْمَعُ
Fa-bāithu Ibrāhīma li sh-shauqi wāḥidun *** falastu uthanīhi wa lam aku ajmau

The impetus of Ibrahim (Niass) is for longing just one incentive.
I will not make it two or more.



وَهُوَ الْمُصْطَفَى خَيْرُ الخَلَائِقِ أَحْمدُ *** بِهِ قُوتُ رُوحِي عِنْدَهُ القَلْبُ يَخْشَعُ
Wa huwa l-Muṣṭafā khayru l-khalāiwi Ahmadu *** bihi qūtu rūḥī indahu l-qalbu yakhsha’u

For he is the chosen and the best of creation, Ahmad
the spiritual victual of my soul, the heart submits to him.



عَكَفْتُ عَلَى بَابِ النَّبِيِّ مُحَمَّدٍ *** وَمَنْ رَامَ ضُرِّي فَهُوَ أَجْدَى وَأَنْفَعُ
‘Akaftu ‘alā bābi n-nabiyyi Muammadin *** wa man rāma urrī fahiwa ajdā wa anfau

I retreat at the main door of Apostle Muhammad
against whoever wants to harm me, and he is my benefactor.



بِمَكَّةَ بِالْمَسْعَى بِخَيْفٍ وَمَشْعَرٍ *** ضِيَاءُ رَسُولِ اللهِ لِلطَّرْفِ يَلْمَعُ
Bi-Makkata bi l-mas’ā bi-khayfin wa masharin *** iyāu rasuli-llahi li t-tarfi yalmau

In Mecca between Safah, Marwa and Munna
Light of Messenger of Allah illuminates the eyes.



بِغَارِ حِرَاءٍ بِالْمُحَصَّبِ لَا أَرَى *** رَفِيقاً سِوَى الهَادِي بِهِ أَتَمَتَّعُ
Bi-gāri irāin bi l-muaṣṣabi lā arā *** rafīqān siwā l-hādī bihi atamattau

At Cave of Hira, in Muhasab I did not see..
..any companion save al-Hadi my pleasure.



مُحَمَّدُ عَبْدُ اللهِ أَحْمَدُ عَاقِبًا *** بِحُبِّ الْإِمَامِ الْهَاشِمِي أَتَشَبَّعُ
Muammadu ‘Abdu-llahi Ahmadu ‘āqibān *** bi-hubbi l-Imāmi l-Hāshimīatashabbau

Muhammad (son of) Abdullah, Ahmad the successor.
I am satisfied via my love for the leader al-Hashimite.



عَلَيْكَ أَمِينَ اللهِ نَاصِرُ حَامِدًا *** بَشِيرٌ نَذِيرٌ مَاحِيَ الْكُفْرِ أَرْوَعُ
‘Alayka Amīna-llahi nāṣiru ḥāmidān *** Bashīrun Nadhīrun maahiya l-kufri arwau

I thrill on you, Allah’s Trustworthy, Helper (of religion), Praiseworthy,
he who gives glad tiding, (he who) warns (against sin) and obliterator of polytheism.



مَكِّيٌّ وَيَا مَأْمُونُ حِبِّي وَمَرْكَزِي *** فَمَا فِي سِوَى هَادِي الْبَرِبَّةِ أَطْمَعُ
Makkiyyu wa Yā mamūnu ibbī wa markazī *** famā fī siwā hādī l-bariyyati ama’u

Makkiyu, O Mamun! My beloved and my honey-pot,
I do not crave for anything except for the Guide of mankind.



أَيَا جَامِعَ الخَيْرَاتِ يَا مَلْجَأَ الوَرَى *** فَصِلْنِي بِحَبْلٍ لَا يُرىَ يَتَقَطَّعُ
Ayā jāmia l-khayrāt Ya maljaa l-warā *** failnī bi-ablin lā yurā yataqaṭṭa’u

O who encompass all good things! O Shelter of creations!
Connect me to a channel that it’s network shall never fail.



عَلَيْكَ صَلَاةُ اللهِ ثُمَّ سَلَامُهُ *** فَإِنَّ فُؤَادِي عِنْدَكَ الدَّهْرَ أَجْمَعُ
‘Alayka alātu-llahi thumma salāmuhu *** fa-inna fuādī indaka d-dahra ajma’u

May blessing and peace of Allah be upon you.
Verily, my mind is always with you.



عَلَيْكَ صَلَاةُ اللهِ ثُمَّ سَلَامُهُ *** فَعَيْشٌ بِدُونِ الْحُبِّ فِيكَ مُضَيَّعُ
Alayka alātu-llahi thumma salāmuhu *** fa-ayshun bi-dūni l-ubbi fīka muayya’u

May blessing and peace of Allah be upon you.
A life without love in you is worthless.



عَلَيْكَ صَلَاةُ اللهِ ثُمَّ سَلَامُهُ *** لِقَاءٌ كَحَسْوِ الطَّيْرِ لِلْقَلْبِ مُوجِعُ
Alayka alātu-llahi thumma salāmuhu *** liqāun kaaswi t-tayri lil-qalbi mūjiu

May blessing and peace of Allah be upon you.
A meeting like a sip of bird is an agony for the heart.



وَيَوْمٌ كَأَلْفٍ مِنْ سِنِينَ أَعُدُّهُ *** قَصِيراً فَمَا نَفْسِي بِذَالِكَ تَقْنَعُ
Wa yawmun ka-alfin min sinīna audduhu *** qaṣīrān famā nafsī bi-dhālika taqnau

Thousands years of my counting
would not satisfy my soul.



عَلَيْكَ صَلَاةُ اللهِ ثُمَّ سَلَامُهُ *** عَلَى رَغْمِ أَنْفِي بِالسَّلَامِ أُوَدِّعُ
Alayka alātu-llahi thumma salāmuhu ***alā ragmi anfī bi s-salāmi uwaddiu

May blessing and peace of Allah be upon you.
Despite my unwillingness, I bid farewell with peace.



عَلَيْكَ صَلَاةُ اللهِ ثُمَّ سَلَامُهُ *** وَهَلْ بَعْدَ هَذَا كُلِّهِ سَوْفَ أَرْجِعُ
Alayka alātu-llahi thumma salāmuhu *** wa hal ba’ada hādhā kulluhu saufa arjiu

May blessing and peace of Allah be upon you.
Shall I ever come back after all these?



عَلَيْكَ صَلَاةُ اللهِ ثُمَّ سَلَامُهُ *** مَدَى الدَّهْرِ دِيْنَ الْمُصْطَفَى القَرْمِ أَرْفَعُ
Alayka alātu-llahi thumma salāmuhu *** madā d-dahri dīna l-muṣṭafā l-qarmi arfau

May blessing and peace of Allah be upon you.
I will persistently propagate the religion of the great leader, al-Mustafa.



عَلَيْكَ صَلَاةُ اللهِ ثُمَّ سَلَامُهُ *** مَقَامُكَ مَحْمُودٌ لَدَى الحَشْرِ تَشْفَعُ
Alayka alātu-llahi thumma salāmuhu *** maqāmuka mahmūdu ladā l-ashri tashfa’u

May blessing and peace of Allah be upon you.
You have a praiseworthy station at the day of resurrection and you will intercede on my behalf.

Sufism history in Nigeria is dated back to precolonial era, A lot of town and cities established in the Northern Nigeria was done by Sufi Sages. BRIEF HIS OF SHEIKH GIBRIMA ZULMA'ARIF

SHEIKH MUHAMMAD GIBRIMA (ZULMA'ARIF). Shaykh Gibrima was a Tijani Sufi Veteran. He transcended to his greatest spiritual pedestal, with the hur'mat (sanctity) of Salat al Fat'hi which he sent upon the ruuh of the Prophet. Dan Nguru (Son/Native of Nguru), Sheikh Gibrima was referred to as Sahib al~Faatihi (Master of 'Salat' al~Faati'h). He was one of the Tijani bigwigs that pledged allegiance to Sheikh Ibrahim Niass, and attested to his Gawthiyya Pedestal and Faydah Grace. SHAYKH IBRAHIM'S POEM ON SHEHU GIBRIMA He was referred to by Shaykh Ibrahim Niyaas in a poem as Dhul Ma'arif (Custodian of Gnosis/Divine Sagacity).
